SASMT Teacher Bursary Program: Empowering Music Aspirants

The SASMT Teacher Bursary program, a boon for existing members, aims to financially support those passionate about pursuing a career in music but lacking adequate resources. Offered biennially, the bursary amount varies based on SASMT’s available funds.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Citizenship: South African
  • Field of Study: Music
  • Financial Need: Demonstrated
  • Enrollment: Tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Membership: Minimum 2 years with SASMT

Application Process:
Aspiring students must download and complete the SASMT Teacher Bursary Application Form. Alongside the form, applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Certified ID document (not older than 3 months)
  • Electronic photograph (500px in height)
  • Recommendation letter from SASMT member
  • Brief Curriculum Vitae
  • Academic record on institution’s letterhead
  • Proof of tertiary institution registration
  • Motivational letter outlining deserving of the bursary
