Job Title: Financial Accountant (Junior)
About the Role
Join Hollywoodbets, a dynamic and fast-growing brand, as a Financial Accountant (Junior). The successful candidate will be responsible for processing monthly journals, reviewing general ledgers, preparing management accounts, and providing relevant supporting performance measures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Metrics
- Review general ledgers to ensure cashbook and creditors capturing are correctly allocated and VAT correctly accounted for.
- Capture and post monthly journals.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and performance measures.
- Ensure timely preparation of management accounts for review by the Senior Financial Accountant.
- Preparation of annual financial statements.
- Responsible for binding the final pack of management accounts for review by the Group Financial Manager.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations by the deadline communicated by the Senior Financial Accountant.
- Ensure routine transactions are processed timely by subordinates.
- Process non-routine and complex transactions.
- Ensure correct capitalization of assets.
- Review VAT general ledger account and prepare reconciliations.
- Review and approve all loan, creditors, facility, instalment sales reconciliations to external statements.
- Process accruals and goods in transit.
- Prepare listings where orders are matched to DN and follow up on unfilled orders.
- Prepare short-term portions calculations and maintain reliable data sheets.
- Process monthly standing debit orders.
- Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation of Budgets.
- Assist the Senior Financial Accountant with the quarterly mini audit.
- Prepare all schedules required by External Auditors, Internal Auditors, and BEE Auditors.
- Facilitate requests by External Auditors, Internal Auditors, and BEE Auditors for documents required for substantive testing.
- Assist Senior Financial Accountant with ad hoc tasks.
- Process credit notes.
People
- Track your performance and set up performance review meetings with the Group Financial Manager.
Compliance, Risk, and Quality
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure logical saving of all work, templates, etc., monthly and yearly.
- Produce high-quality, neat, logical, easy-to-understand work/templates.
- Ensure documents are saved/backed up chronologically.
- Ensure 100% compliance with relevant laws/regulations.
- Prepare department process write-ups and system descriptions quarterly.
Growth and New Markets/Products
- Ensure measures are in place to achieve short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals.
- Assist with company projects as needed.

Requirements
- Completed or studying towards a relevant diploma/degree.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Pastel Evolution or similar accounting software.
