Main Purpose:

Ensure the delivery of the highest standards of customer service and meet sales turnover targets through effective people management and enforcement of retail disciplines at the store level. The successful candidate will oversee store administration functions and assist the Store Manager.

Line Manager: Store Manager
Subordinates: All Flexi timers and permanent staff within the store

Job Specification:

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Adherence to Policies and Procedures:
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly admin checks as per guidelines.
  • Perform daily tasks such as declarations, cash preparation, and collections.
  • Address issues logged (stock, maintenance, cash, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with instruction letters and deadlines.
  1. Cash Control:
  • Provide POS training and support to staff.
  • Ensure daily cash control and banking procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve cash variances.
  • Capture manual transactions promptly.
  1. Stock Control:
  • Provide stock management training and support to staff.
  • Ensure adherence to stock management processes.
  • Investigate and resolve stock variances.
  • Conduct weekly and quarterly stock counts accurately.
  • Complete weekly shoe pairing exercise.
  • Control write-offs adequately.
  1. Store Management in Absence of Store Manager:
  • Ensure the store operates as required.
  • Maintain customer relations.
  • Plan adequate staffing.
  • Follow instructions and to-do lists.
  • Take disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Maintain HR relations.
  1. Customer Service:
  • Cultivate a service-oriented culture.
  • Build internal and external customer relationships.
  • Provide in-store coaching and ongoing skills training.
  • Serve as a role model for customer centricity and service excellence.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of retail experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of administration management experience.
  • Experience in small to medium retail turnover stores.

Qualifications:

  • Matric/Grade 12.
  • Tertiary Retail Qualification will be advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Knowledge of retail administration disciplines.
  • Proficiency in stock and cash management.
  • In-depth understanding of policies and procedures.
