The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering a unique internship opportunity in its Human Settlements Department. This internship is available for a period not exceeding eighteen months. Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (NQF level 4)
  • NQF level 7 qualification in Housing, Human Settlements, Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies, Law, or related Social Sciences discipline
  • Enrollment confirmation letter from an institution
  • Residency in the City of Johannesburg

Primary Function of the Internship

Interns will contribute to the research efforts within the directorate. They will assist with the development of policies and guidelines through baseline research. Additionally, interns will facilitate the coordination of forums, stakeholder engagements, and public participation processes. They will also support the administrative functions within the directorate.

Interns will gain experience in the following areas:

  • Producing and undertaking quality research and research reports in the Directorate
  • Assisting with policy development processes
  • Supporting the coordination of forums, stakeholder engagements, and public participation processes
  • Performing administrative duties to ensure effective support for the Directorate’s operations
