Job Overview

Dynamic Plastics cc, a leading plastic manufacturer, is seeking a motivated HR Administrator/Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for school leavers, part-time students, or newly graduated individuals with a passion for HR. The position is based in Malvern East, Germiston, and offers an opportunity to work closely with the HR Manager to support various HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Support Functions

  • Assist the HR Manager with all HR-related functions, including payroll, recruitment, skills development, industrial relations, and labor relations.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee files and manage data capturing processes.

2. Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Support the recruitment process by vetting candidates, assisting with interviews, and issuing employment contracts.
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for all new employees.

3. Payroll and Employee Records

  • Assist in processing payroll and handling documentation related to employee compensation and benefits.
  • Compile and maintain paper, digital, and electronic employee records, including tracking holiday and sickness leaves.

4. HR Inquiries and Reporting

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to the HR department.
  • Write and submit reports on general HR activities, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

5. Training and Development

  • Support HR-related training programs, workshops, and seminars aimed at employee development.
  • Stay updated on the latest HR best practices to enhance workplace efficiency.

6. Event Coordination and Communication

  • Oversee HR events and meetings, coordinating communication between management and employees.
  • Ensure effective and clear communication across all levels of the organization.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent is compulsory.
  • A tertiary qualification in HR is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous work experience is not necessary, though admin-related experience is a plus.

Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
