Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an exciting opportunity available for an Admin Manager in the Westrand Area. The successful candidate will assist in managing, implementing, and maintaining company administration policies and procedures, ensuring the profitability of the store by adhering to group standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Assist the Store Manager with daily duties to optimize store operations.
- Goods Management: Manage goods in transit and oversee the branch shrinkage and consumables expenses.
- Customer Engagement: Encourage and report new loyalty signups.
- Human Resource Management: Facilitate HR processes, submissions, and documentation for the entire business unit, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Workforce Management: Take ownership of the KRONOS workforce management system within the business unit.
- Performance Management: Ensure the company’s performance management systems are effectively implemented.
- Cash Management: Take control of the store’s cash resources and manage daily takings.
- Transaction Integrity: Monitor and ensure transaction integrity throughout the branch by implementing and evaluating adherence to internal control procedures.
- Cashier Management: Oversee cashier service levels and productivity rates.
- Goods Receiving Function: Manage the goods receiving function, including credits, adherence to SOPs, and staff development within this area.
- Budget Management: Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the store’s budget.
Minimum Requirements
- Essential:
- Grade 12/Matric
- Minimum of 3 years of retail experience in Receiving, Front shop operations, Customer Service, HR Management, and Store Administration
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience overseeing a staff complement of around 8
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Willing and able to work retail hours
- Advantageous:
- Diploma/Degree in Financial/Administration/Retail/Business Management
- Working knowledge of SAP and retail operation systems
Competencies
- Essential:
- Experience in store retail admin and management, including receiving, capturing, till operations, cash office, and customer service
- Strong command of the English language
- Basic financial skills (GP, mark-up, VAT, etc.)
- Effective interaction with suppliers, management, reps, and staff
- Strong analytical skills and time management
- Advantageous:
- Basic IR and management training
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Leadership abilities
