Purpose of Role

The role involves teaching isiZulu (First Additional Language) to Senior Phase and FET Phase scholars, helping them achieve academic success and fostering social and emotional development. The educator will work collaboratively within a dynamic and tech-enabled environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching and Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver face-to-face and online isiZulu lessons, incorporating SPARK’s inquiry-based curriculum.
  • Collaboration: Work with grade-level teams to design engaging lessons and individualized learning plans.
  • Assessments and Data Analysis: Create formative and termly assessments, track progress, and implement data-driven interventions.
  • Scholar Development: Support character and career development, including managing programs for high and low-performing scholars.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement SPARK culture and effective behavior strategies.
  • Communication: Engage professionally with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Additional Duties: Participate in professional development, Saturday events, and community meetings.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education:
    • B.Ed or PGCE in isiZulu Home Language (Senior/FET Phase) or isiZulu First Additional Language (Senior/FET Phase).
  • Experience:
    • 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably including Grade 11 and 12.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • Fluency in isiZulu and English.
  • Professional Requirements:
    • SACE registration.
    • Clear criminal record.
