Minimum Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Formal tertiary qualification in Social Work (Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent)
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)
- Valid proof of registration must be provided with application

Key Responsibilities
Direct Service Delivery
- Render comprehensive social work services focusing on care, support, protection and development of vulnerable populations
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify conditions justifying social work interventions
- Develop and implement appropriate intervention strategies based on assessment findings
- Provide professional recommendations to address identified social conditions and challenges
Statutory and Legal Functions
- Perform all statutory functions applicable to social work practice
- Compile comprehensive court reports and attend to court enquiries
- Handle tasks emanating from court directives and legal requirements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policy frameworks
Supervision and Support
- Provide support and guidance to social auxiliary workers
- Supervise and mentor volunteers within the social welfare framework
- Facilitate team collaboration and knowledge sharing among support staff
Administrative and Reporting Duties
- Produce and maintain accurate records of social work interventions and outcomes
- Monitor and continuously study the social services legal and policy framework
- Perform all required administrative functions associated with the position
- Maintain detailed case files and progress reports
