About the Learnership

ABSA is offering an Unemployed Youth Learnership for young South Africans who want to build a career in microinsurance and financial services.

The purpose of this programme is simple but powerful: to equip unemployed youth with the practical skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in the industry. As a Microinsurance Sales Consultant Learner, you’ll help drive financial inclusion by promoting accessible and affordable insurance solutions to underserved communities.

Youth Learnership Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Sales & Customer Engagement

  • Promoting and selling microinsurance products to individuals and communities.
  • Building trust and maintaining strong client relationships through exceptional customer service.
  • Recommending suitable and affordable insurance solutions.
  • Assisting clients with applications, policy queries, and claims processes.

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensuring all activities comply with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Accurately capturing client information and maintaining detailed records.

Community & Performance

  • Participating in community outreach, awareness campaigns, and educational initiatives.
  • Meeting learnership performance and sales targets.
  • Continuously developing product knowledge and sales techniques.

Youth Learnership Minimum Requirements

To be considered, you must meet these requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Management Studies, or related fields.
  • Currently unemployed and not studying.
  • Clear criminal and credit record.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel within Gauteng.

Advantageous

  • Previous call centre experience.
  • Exposure to sales or customer service environments.
