As an Administrative Clerk in Management Support Services, you will become an integral part of the operational backbone of the Mthatha Labour Centre.

Your Administrative Clerk role will encompass multiple administrative functions that ensure the smooth running of daily operations while supporting the department’s mandate to deliver quality services to the public in accordance with Batho Pele principles.

Key Performance Areas and Duties

Supply Chain Management Functions:

  • Execute daily Supply Chain Management activities within the Labour Centre
  • Process procurement requests and documentation in compliance with Treasury Regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of assets and inventory
  • Facilitate the acquisition and distribution of office supplies and equipment

Finance and Office Management Services:

  • Provide comprehensive financial administration support to the Labour Centre
  • Process financial transactions and maintain expenditure records
  • Coordinate office maintenance and facility management activities
  • Manage office equipment and ensure proper functioning of administrative tools

Human Resource Management Support:

  • Administer HR processes and documentation for Labour Centre staff
  • Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with departmental policies
  • Facilitate leave management and attendance monitoring systems
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees

Training and Performance Management:

  • Coordinate training activities and development initiatives for Labour Centre staff
  • Maintain training records and monitor compliance with departmental requirements
  • Support the implementation of performance management systems
  • Assist with the administration of workplace skills plans and training reports

Records Management:

  • Establish and maintain an efficient records management system for the Labour Centre
  • Ensure proper classification, storage and retrieval of official documents
  • Implement document control procedures in line with departmental policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all official records

Administrative Clerk Minimum Requirements

Educational Requirements:

  • Matriculation/Grade 12/Senior Certificate

Required Knowledge:

  • Batho Pele Principles and their application in service delivery
  • Departmental policies and procedures
  • Treasury Regulations and public finance management
  • Public Service regulatory framework

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
