South Africa

About the Anglo American Bursary
Anglo American is one of the world’s largest mining companies, and its South African business units have a long history of investing in local talent.
Through its bursary programme โ mainly offered by Kumba Iron Ore in the Northern Cape โ Anglo American funds South African students pursuing mining-related engineering degrees.
The bursary is awarded one academic year at a time and reviewed annually for the length of your degree. It covers tuition, accommodation, meals, books, and includes paid vacation work. In return, you sign a work-back commitment.
If you’re studying engineering and want hands-on experience in one of South Africa’s most important industries, this is a bursary worth watching.
๐ Note: Anglo American Platinum became Valterra Platinum, and the thermal coal business became Thungela. As a result, recent bursary adverts have come mainly from Kumba Iron Ore.

Declining an offer or leaving early means repaying the bursary. A parent or guardian signs surety.
