Position Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Cashier Development Administrator to join our Head Office team in Midrand. This role primarily involves providing administrative support to the Cashier Development team and other relevant stakeholders.


Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Senior Certificate
  • 1 – 2 years of experience working as a Cashier or Senior Cashier in a retail setting

Advantageous:

  • Certificate in Administration or a Facilitator qualification
  • At least 1 year of administration experience

Role Specifications

  • Manage general office duties, including ordering stationery, training equipment, and consumables as needed
  • Organize the team calendar, including training schedules and venues
  • Track departmental invoice payments and update the invoice spreadsheet accurately
  • Maintain a stock/asset register for training equipment and consumables
  • Handle travel arrangements for the team, including accommodation, flights, and car hire, ensuring timely submission and approval by the Group Cashier Development Manager and the HR Director
  • Collaborate with the team to review cashier training manuals
  • Record and maintain accurate documentation of all cashier training activities, submitting reports to management promptly
  • Respond to and assist stakeholders with any queries related to Cashier Training on Success Factors (SF), including Stores and Managers
  • Ensure heat calls are addressed and resolved promptly according to department SOPs
  • Escalate unresolved heat calls to the System Facilitator and Group Cashier Development Manager if not closed within 48 hours
  • Consolidate and distribute weekly heat call reports to managers
  • Input all relevant training data into Success Factors on a weekly basis
  • Provide excellent HR customer service by acting as a contact point for general queries from internal and external customers through various communication forms
  • Ensure effective verbal and written communication with all relevant stakeholders promptly
  • Inform management of any discrepancies regarding systems, documentation, or unresolved issues
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies, Code of Conduct, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations

Competencies

Essential:

  • Proficiency in general office administration
  • Knowledge of cashier operations
  • Excellent command of English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Advanced till operations skills
  • Trustworthiness and honesty
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong time management and deadline orientation

Advantageous:

  • Background in cashier operations
  • Experience with retail systems
  • SAP knowledge
