  • Qualification Completed (min 360 credits): R9 531.54 pm (Basic Salary, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Minimum National Diploma in Built Environment (NQF 6) and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Built Environment (NQF 7) (Candidate must require in-service training towards completion of studies)
  • Confirmation letter from the educational institution
  • Only residents of the City of Johannesburg will be considered.

Primary Function:


Assist in the delivery of Human Settlements in the City’s cores and the Corridors of Freedom. Provide support to specialists in determining the optimal use of plots of land/buildings within a community. Assist in project packaging and audits as required.

  • Assist in the coordination of procedural requirements associated with the delivery of human settlements.
  • Facilitate and manage projects.
  • Provide administrative support within the unit.
  • Assist in project management, data analysis, and provide input for policy and guideline changes.
  • Support the interpretation and implementation of Human Settlement policies, legislation, and acts.

Leading Competencies:

  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in English (reading and writing)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Coordination skills
  • Presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Conflict management skills

Core Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes
  • Understanding of Human Settlements policies and legislation
  • Basic knowledge of project management
