PPC Bursary Scheme: Full Funding for Engineers
PPC Ltd (PPC Bursary Scheme)
South Africa
Closing Date: 31 December 2026
About the PPC Bursary Scheme
PPC Ltd is a JSE-listed cement and lime producer with a long history in South Africa. Through its Bursary Scheme, the company funds students who want to build careers in engineering, geology, and environmental science.
This is a full bursary. It covers tuition, accommodation, meals, and study-related expenses. You’ll also get mentorship and, if things go well, the chance to work at PPC after graduation.
The scheme is administered externally by CareerWise and runs as two streams:
- A community bursary for students from PPC’s host communities.
- An employee-children bursary for children of PPC employees.
If you’re studying full-time in one of the funded fields and you need financial support, this is worth applying for.
Eligible Fields of Study
PPC Bursary Scheme supports students in the following disciplines:
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Environmentally-oriented / environmental science degrees
- Geology
What’s Included In The PPC Bursary Scheme
- Tuition fees.
- Accommodation.
- Meals.

PPC Bursary Scheme Requirements
To qualify, you must meet these criteria:
- South African citizen.
- Enrolled or accepted for full-time undergraduate studies at an accredited South African university or university of technology.
- Minimum of level 6 for Mathematics and Science in Matric (for engineering, geology, and science degrees).
- Strong academic record.
- Studying toward one of the funded engineering, geology, or environmental science fields.
Work Commitment
Here’s something to keep in mind: graduates are required to work for PPC (subject to availability) for a period equal to the length of time the bursary was held.
So if you receive funding for three years, you’d be expected to work at PPC for three years after graduating. It’s a fair exchange — they invest in your education, and you contribute your skills to the company.
